The Allure of Chalk Paint and Steampunk

Of all the things I’ve created, painted, and written about on my blog, I could have never predicted that this post would be the most viewed……

I’m not sure if it’s the colors,

The fact that it’s a frame,

Or the overall look of the piece.

But perhaps it’s the allure of a magical thing called chalk paint, and more specifically, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Since that was the top keyword search on my blog this past year, I have a sneaking suspicion that that’s the winning guess.

I mean really…..why else would people Re-Pin a painted plastic frame? Don’t get me wrong. I was happy enough with the results to sell it in my Etsy shop, but the thought of it being the most popular of all my posts? Whoda thunk it….

The second most popular post is a bit more believable to me. It was my Steampunk Tree. I think it’s also one of my most-pinned creations. I still love and display it at Christmastime, and it certainly set me on a path of crafting with old dictionary pages. Don’t know when I’ll stop doing that, but it hasn’t happened yet.

I wonder what creative path I’ll walk down this year? The possibilities give my imagination the feeling of a new morning with a fresh cup of coffee, and my kitty curled up in my lap…..Purrrfect…..
